What Can Go in Your Bin?

Recycling in Dublin doesn’t have to be confusing. If you’ve ever stood over your bins wondering where to throw that greasy pizza box or plastic wrapper—this guide is for you.

1) Green Bin – Dry Recycling: You can put in:

Paper & cardboard (flattened)Plastic bottles (clean & dry)Aluminium cans & tinsClean milk/juice cartons

🛑 No, soft plastics, plastic bags, nappies, or food waste.


2) Brown Bin – Compost/Food Waste: You can put in: Fruit & veg scraps, Coffee grounds & tea bags, Eggshells, bones, leftovers, Garden clippings

🛑No plastic packaging or liquids.


3) Black Bin – General Waste: Everything that can't be recycled or composted: Nappies, Soft plastics, Styrofoam, Contaminated food containers
